H.R. No. 2037
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
of Silbiano Morin Gonzalez of Cotulla, who passed away on February
26, 2021, at the age of 71; and
WHEREAS, The son of Processo and Refugia Gonzalez, Silbiano
Gonzalez was born on May 4, 1949, and grew up with eight siblings,
George, Jesse, Esperanza, Sisto, Joe, Clemente, David, and Rogelio;
and
WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Gonzalez
proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of the
Vietnam War; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzalez took great pride in his children, Lisa,
Melanie, and Juan, and with the passing years, he had the pleasure
of seeing his family grow to include 13 grandchildren, Abigail,
Kiera, Nyana, JaNiya, Isaiah, Jacob, Malachi, Ohnysty, Auria,
Unique, Chanel, Romancio, and Majesty, as well as numerous
great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family and his country,
Silbiano Gonzalez lived a rich and purposeful life, and he earned
the lasting respect and admiration of all who were privileged to
know him; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Silbiano Morin
Gonzalez and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn his
passing; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Silbiano
Gonzalez.
