45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
67 passing of Kenneth James Hayes of Cross Roads on November 6, 2018,
78 at the age of 60; and
89 WHEREAS, Ken Hayes was born to Olene Thomas and Kermitt Hayes
910 on August 9, 1958, in Dallas; a graduate of Henderson County Junior
1011 College, he spent his early career working for the Texas Utilities
1112 Mining Company in Fairfield, and he went on to find further success
1213 building houses for Hayes & Company Custom Homes; and
1314 WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Hayes worked to improve
1415 the lives of Henderson County residents through his role as the
1516 commissioner for Precinct 1, and he also served as a member of the
1617 National Soil and Water Conservation Board and as president of the
1718 Post Oak Cemetery Association; moreover, he was a valued congregant
1819 of First Baptist Church in Malakoff; and
1920 WHEREAS, Mr. Hayes shared a rewarding family life with his
2021 wife, Joyce, and his children, Kristi, Josh, Jenni, and Katie, and
2122 he took great pride in his 10 grandchildren, Megan, Allie, Kyler,
2223 Paige, Kinleigh, Loden, Lukas, Seth, Ady, and Jace; in his leisure
2324 time, he enjoyed ranching and trail riding with his friends; and
2425 WHEREAS, Ken Hayes was a devoted family man and a significant
2526 asset to his community, and his commitment to his loved ones and to
2627 his fellow citizens will be remembered and admired for years to
2728 come; now, therefore, be it
2829 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2930 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kenneth James Hayes
3031 and extend sincere sympathy to his family and friends; and, be it
3132 further
3233 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3334 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3435 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ken Hayes.
