 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
 passing of Kenneth James Hayes of Cross Roads on November 6, 2018,
 at the age of 60; and
 WHEREAS, Ken Hayes was born to Olene Thomas and Kermitt Hayes
 on August 9, 1958, in Dallas; a graduate of Henderson County Junior
 College, he spent his early career working for the Texas Utilities
 Mining Company in Fairfield, and he went on to find further success
 building houses for Hayes & Company Custom Homes; and
 WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. Hayes worked to improve
 the lives of Henderson County residents through his role as the
 commissioner for Precinct 1, and he also served as a member of the
 National Soil and Water Conservation Board and as president of the
 Post Oak Cemetery Association; moreover, he was a valued congregant
 of First Baptist Church in Malakoff; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Hayes shared a rewarding family life with his
 wife, Joyce, and his children, Kristi, Josh, Jenni, and Katie, and
 he took great pride in his 10 grandchildren, Megan, Allie, Kyler,
 Paige, Kinleigh, Loden, Lukas, Seth, Ady, and Jace; in his leisure
 time, he enjoyed ranching and trail riding with his friends; and
 WHEREAS, Ken Hayes was a devoted family man and a significant
 asset to his community, and his commitment to his loved ones and to
 his fellow citizens will be remembered and admired for years to
 come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kenneth James Hayes
 and extend sincere sympathy to his family and friends; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ken Hayes.
