| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed |

| 6 | 7 | | cause for celebration, and Janie Hernandez of Houston is marking |

| 7 | 8 | | this momentous milestone in her life on March 13, 2021; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A Bayou City native, Janie Hernandez was born in |

| 9 | 10 | | 1931; she married Joe Hernandez Sr., and they were blessed with five |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | daughters and three sons; through the years, their treasured family |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | has grown to include 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | 8 great-great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Hernandez worked for Oshman's Sporting Goods |

| 14 | 15 | | for three decades before her retirement in 1996; active in her |

| 15 | 16 | | community, she is a valued member of the senior citizens group at |

| 16 | 17 | | the Ripley House neighborhood center; she is always dressed to |

| 17 | 18 | | impress at any gathering; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Above all, Mrs. Hernandez is devoted to her family, |

| 19 | 20 | | and she looks forward to monthly mother-daughter weekends; she |

| 20 | 21 | | spoils her relatives with her delicious cooking, and she loves to |

| 21 | 22 | | dance, sing, travel, and go fishing; when relaxing at home, she |

| 22 | 23 | | likes to catch Wheel of Fortune or Westerns; John Wayne and Tom |

| 23 | 24 | | Selleck rank among her favorite actors, and she has also enjoyed |

| 24 | 25 | | watching news anchors Marvin Zindler and David Muir on television; |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Janie Hernandez has long been a source of joy, |
