| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Corpus Christi lost an admired civic leader with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Anita Louise Holt Eisenhauer on December 21, 2019, at the |

| 7 | 8 | | age of 77; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The descendant of early settlers of the Texas |

| 9 | 10 | | Panhandle, the former Anita Holt was born to Ora Calvin Holt and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | Louise Rorex Holt in Amarillo on February 27, 1942; she completed |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | her bachelor's degree in history at The University of Texas at |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Austin and her master's degree in history at Texas A&I University; |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | devoted to her family, she shared a rewarding marriage of 49 years |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | with her husband, Gene Edmond Eisenhauer, until his passing, and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | she was the mother of two sons, William and George; she also took |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | great pride in her grandchildren, David, Rachel, Isabella, and |

| 17 | 18 | | Louise; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Eisenhauer was a successful businesswoman and |

| 19 | 20 | | taught in the Corpus Christi Independent School District; history |

| 20 | 21 | | was her passion, and as chair of the Nueces County Historical |

| 21 | 22 | | Commission, she oversaw the application process for numerous |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Official Texas Historical Markers, often directing the research and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | writing the required narratives; she fought for the preservation of |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | the 1914 Nueces County Courthouse and Old Bayview Cemetery, and she |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | served as financial officer of the Friends of Old Bayview Cemetery |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Association and organized popular annual events at the site; a |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for 50 years, she |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | was regent of the Corpus Christi Chapter and chair of the Historic |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | Preservation Committee of its Texas Society; she served in |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | leadership roles with numerous other organizations as well, among |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | them the Nueces County Historical Society, the Old Bayview Chapter |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | of the National Society United States Daughters of 1812, and the |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History; in 2019, she received |

| 34 | 35 | | the Spirit of Preservation award from the Corpus Christi Landmark |

| 35 | 36 | | Commission; and |

| 36 | 37 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedication to Texas history, Anita |

| 37 | 38 | | Eisenhauer enriched the lives of innumerable people, and she will |

| 38 | 39 | | be remembered with admiration and affection by all who were |

| 39 | 40 | | privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it |

| 40 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 41 | 42 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Anita Louise Holt |

| 42 | 43 | | Eisenhauer and extend heartfelt sympathy to her family and friends; |
