H.R. No. 436
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A caring and purposeful life drew to a close with the
passing of Ruben Rodriguez on February 10, 2021, at the age of 63;
and
WHEREAS, The son of Leonel and Isabel Rodriguez, Ruben
Rodriguez grew up with nine brothers and sisters; and
WHEREAS, Valuing family above all else, Mr. Rodriguez was a
devoted husband to his wife, Olga, and he took great pride in his
eight children, Yesenia, Leonel, Ayiza, Joel, Chris, Joshua, Mary,
and Nick, and his nine grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Rodriguez enjoyed a rewarding career as a
contractor until his retirement; strong in his faith, he served in
various ministries at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church,
St. Paul Catholic Church, and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic
Church, and he and his wife hosted many young missionaries over the
years; in recognition of his contributions to his community, he was
named Mr. Mission by the Progress Times in 2014; and
WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Ruben Rodriguez
leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ruben Rodriguez and
extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
wife, Olga Rodriguez; to his children, Yesenia Rodriguez, Leonel
Rodriguez and his wife, Michelle Moreno, Ayiza Huerta and her
husband, Aaron, Joel Rodriguez and his wife, Isamar Flores, Chris
Rodriguez, and Joshua Rodriguez; to his brothers, Lionel, Joe,
Javier, Arturo, and Mike Rodriguez, and his sisters, Dora Ruiz,
Alicia Fuentes, Christina Felix, and Josie Snell; to his
grandchildren; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be
it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ruben
Rodriguez.
