 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Dewey Douglas Stockbridge of Alpine, a respected
 biologist for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, tragically
 passed away on August 8, 2020, at the age of 36; and
 WHEREAS, Dewey Stockbridge was born in Fredericksburg on
 November 16, 1983, to Randy and Connie Stockbridge and was raised
 with a sister, Leslie; he was an outstanding student and athlete at
 Mason High School, where he graduated in 2002, and he went on to
 obtain a wildlife and fisheries sciences degree at Texas A&M
 University in 2006; and
 WHEREAS, Embarking on his career with the Texas Parks and
 Wildlife Department in 2005, Mr. Stockbridge joined the Black Gap
 Wildlife Management Area as a wildlife technician; passionate about
 habitat restoration for the desert bighorn sheep of far West Texas,
 he became deeply engaged in conservation efforts for the animals
 and was promoted to wildlife biologist; eventually, he took on the
 role of lead wildlife biologist for the Elephant Mountain Wildlife
 Management Area, helping to return pronghorn and desert bighorn
 sheep to their native range in the Trans-Pecos region; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Stockbridge contributed to his professional
 community as a member of the Texas Wildlife Association, the Texas
 Bighorn Society, the Desert Bighorn Council, and the Wild Sheep and
 Mule Deer Foundations, among numerous other organizations; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Stockbridge enjoyed the
 love and support of his wife, the former Shannon Staudt, and their
 children, Jameson and London; an avid hunter and angler, he passed
 on his love of nature and the outdoors to his son and daughter; he
 was also a valued member of the First United Methodist Church of
 Mason; and
 WHEREAS, Dewey Stockbridge was a significant asset to his
 community and to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and his
 commitment to conservation and wildlife restoration will be
 remembered and admired for years to come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dewey Douglas
 Stockbridge and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
 family: to his wife, Shannon Stockbridge; to his son, Jameson
 Stockbridge; to his daughter, London Stockbridge; to his parents,
 Randy and Connie Stockbridge; to his sister, Leslie Becker, and her
 husband, Travis; to his niece, Aubrey Joy Becker; to his father- and
 mother-in-law, Eddie and Peggy Staudt; and to his many other
 relatives, friends, and colleagues; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dewey
 Stockbridge.
