R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Olivia Uribe has been named the 2020-2021 Teacher of
the Year at Tornillo Intermediate School; and
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Uribe currently teaches third grade at Tornillo
Intermediate School; a team lead and mentor, she has helped new
faculty better understand state standards, and she has guided other
teachers in her grade level through discussions about content and
assessments as well as in the use of various digital platforms and
resources during the pandemic; moreover, she cares deeply about her
students and maintains a nurturing yet challenging classroom
environment; and
WHEREAS, Olivia Uribe exemplifies the passion,
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
best educators, and she has set a standard of excellence to which
all in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Olivia Uribe on her selection as
the 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year at Tornillo Intermediate School
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success with her
important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Uribe as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
