| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, After serving at Mount Rose Baptist Church in |

| 9 | 10 | | Dallas, this esteemed clergyman became the senior pastor at |

| 10 | 11 | | St. John Church on May 5, 1991; under his leadership, the church has |

| 11 | 12 | | experienced tremendous growth, gaining many new members as well as |

| 12 | 13 | | establishing a wide variety of new ministries over the past three |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | decades; in order to address the needs of this thriving |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | congregation, Pastor Davis has overseen a number of renovation and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | expansion projects to the Grand Prairie campus, and he was |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | instrumental in the creation of a second campus in Southlake; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A native of Champaign, Illinois, Pastor Davis holds |

| 18 | 19 | | a bachelor's degree in religion from Bishop College, a master's |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | degree in theology from Brite Divinity School at Texas Christian |

| 20 | 21 | | University, and a doctorate from Georgetown College, and he is also |

| 21 | 22 | | an alumnus of the University of Oxford; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Pastor Davis has long set an inspiring example of |

| 23 | 24 | | faith in action, and the members of his congregation have greatly |

| 24 | 25 | | benefited from his wise counsel and spiritual guidance; now, |
