| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Kenneth Lester Davis on February 23, 2020, at the age of |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of John and Lyla Davis, Kenny Davis was born |

| 9 | 10 | | in Ulysses, Kansas, on January 21, 1958; in high school, he was a |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | National Merit Scholar and a standout football player, earning the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Hobbs Fighting Eagle award; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Davis went on to receive an engineering degree |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | from Texas Tech University in 1981, and he subsequently embarked on |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | a successful career as a civil engineer and developer; in his |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | leisure time, he found pleasure in duck hunting and fishing, and he |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | earned a reputation for his ability to fix anything; a Bible scholar |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | and a man of strong faith, he served as an elder at Trinity Bible |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Church in Willow Park; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Davis enjoyed the love and |

| 20 | 21 | | support of his wife, Janie, and the couple shared a rewarding |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | marriage that spanned more than three and a half decades; he |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | cherished their daughter, Abby, and he welcomed into the family a |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | beloved son-in-law, Clint Foster; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Admired for his wisdom, his generosity, and his |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | selfless nature, Kenny Davis brightened the world for all who knew |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, |

| 27 | 28 | | therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kenneth Lester Davis |
