H.R. No. 98 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the passing of Kenneth Lester Davis on February 23, 2020, at the age of 62; and WHEREAS, The son of John and Lyla Davis, Kenny Davis was born in Ulysses, Kansas, on January 21, 1958; in high school, he was a National Merit Scholar and a standout football player, earning the Hobbs Fighting Eagle award; and WHEREAS, Mr. Davis went on to receive an engineering degree from Texas Tech University in 1981, and he subsequently embarked on a successful career as a civil engineer and developer; in his leisure time, he found pleasure in duck hunting and fishing, and he earned a reputation for his ability to fix anything; a Bible scholar and a man of strong faith, he served as an elder at Trinity Bible Church in Willow Park; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Davis enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Janie, and the couple shared a rewarding marriage that spanned more than three and a half decades; he cherished their daughter, Abby, and he welcomed into the family a beloved son-in-law, Clint Foster; and WHEREAS, Admired for his wisdom, his generosity, and his selfless nature, Kenny Davis brightened the world for all who knew him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kenneth Lester Davis and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kenny Davis.
