| 7 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 8 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Sections 281.0211(c) and (d), Health and Safety |
|---|
| 9 | 11 | | Code, are amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 10 | 12 | | (c) On or after September 1, 2030 [2022], the Dallas County |
|---|
| 11 | 13 | | Commissioners Court shall appoint members to the board in |
|---|
| 12 | 14 | | accordance with Sections 281.021(a) and 281.022(a). |
|---|
| 13 | 15 | | (d) Subsection (c) does not affect the entitlement of a |
|---|
| 14 | 16 | | member of the board of the Dallas County Hospital District |
|---|
| 15 | 17 | | appointed to the board under this section before September 1, 2030 |
|---|
| 16 | 18 | | [2022], to continue to carry out the member's functions for the |
|---|
| 17 | 19 | | remainder of the member's term. |
|---|
| 18 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 19 | 21 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 20 | 22 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 21 | 23 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 22 | 24 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
