A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the creation of an additional criminal judicial
district composed of Tarrant County.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 24.910(b), Government Code, is amended
to read as follows:
(b) This section applies to the Tarrant County Criminal
District Courts Nos. 1, 2, [and] 3, and 5.
SECTION 2. Subchapter E, Chapter 24, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 24.915 to read as follows:
Sec. 24.915. CRIMINAL JUDICIAL DISTRICT NO. 5 OF TARRANT
COUNTY. (a) The Criminal Judicial District No. 5 of Tarrant County
is composed of Tarrant County.
(b) Section 24.910, relating to the Tarrant County Criminal
District Court No. 1, contains provisions applicable to both that
court and the Tarrant County Criminal District Court No. 5.
SECTION 3. The Criminal Judicial District No. 5 of Tarrant
County is created on the effective date of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
