46 AN ACT
57 relating to approval for certain projects related to bridges over
68 the Rio Grande.
79 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
810 SECTION 1. Section 201.612, Transportation Code, is amended
911 by adding Subsection (h) to read as follows:
1012 (h) A political subdivision is not required to comply with
1113 Subsection (a) for a project that:
1214 (1) is for the reconstruction, improvement,
1315 expansion, or maintenance of an existing bridge; and
1416 (2) has received approval from the United States under
1517 33 U.S.C. Chapter 11, Subchapter IV (33 U.S.C. Section 535 et seq.),
1618 authorizing the project.
1719 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
1820 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
1921 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2022 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2123 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
