A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the timely processing of certain requests relating to
the employment of a person released on parole or to mandatory
supervision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 508, Government Code, is
amended by adding Section 508.1145 to read as follows:
Sec. 508.1145. PROCESSING OF REQUEST RELATING TO RELEASEE
EMPLOYMENT. To the extent practicable, a parole officer shall
complete the processing of a request relating to a releasee's
employment, including all necessary paperwork, not later than the
third business day after the date the officer receives the request.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
