| 6 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 7 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 2054.512(b), Government Code, is amended | |
| 8 | 10 | to read as follows: | |
| 9 | 11 | (b) The cybersecurity council must include: | |
| 10 | 12 | (1) one member who is an employee of the office of the | |
| 11 | 13 | governor; | |
| 12 | 14 | (2) one member of the senate appointed by the | |
| 13 | 15 | lieutenant governor; | |
| 14 | 16 | (3) one member of the house of representatives | |
| 15 | 17 | appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; [and] | |
| 16 | 18 | (4) one member who is an employee of the Elections | |
| 17 | 19 | Division of the Office of the Secretary of State; and | |
| 18 | 20 | (5) additional members appointed by the state | |
| 19 | 21 | cybersecurity coordinator, including representatives of | |
| 20 | 22 | institutions of higher education and private sector leaders. | |
| 21 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. | |
