| 9 | 13 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 14 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 1151, Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 15 | | amended by adding Section 1151.109 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 16 | | Sec. 1151.109. INFORMATION ON APPRAISAL DISTRICT REVIEWS. |
|---|
| 13 | 17 | | (a) The commission by rule shall require the department to include |
|---|
| 14 | 18 | | in the record of the registered professional appraiser who serves |
|---|
| 15 | 19 | | as chief appraiser for an appraisal district at the time the |
|---|
| 16 | 20 | | comptroller finalizes the biennial review of the appraisal |
|---|
| 17 | 21 | | district's performance under Section 5.102(c), Tax Code, an |
|---|
| 18 | 22 | | electronic link to: |
|---|
| 19 | 23 | | (1) the comptroller's report for the review; and |
|---|
| 20 | 24 | | (2) each property value study the comptroller conducts |
|---|
| 21 | 25 | | under Subchapter M, Chapter 403, Government Code, that is used in |
|---|
| 22 | 26 | | the review. |
|---|
| 23 | 27 | | (b) An appraisal district may request from the department |
|---|
| 24 | 28 | | information on a registered professional appraiser whom the board |
|---|
| 25 | 29 | | of directors of the appraisal district is considering for |
|---|
| 26 | 30 | | appointment as chief appraiser of the appraisal district. The |
|---|
| 27 | 31 | | department shall inform the requestor of the status of any |
|---|
| 28 | 32 | | compliance efforts of an appraisal district under Section 5.102(d), |
|---|
| 29 | 33 | | Tax Code, for previous reviews in which the appraiser served as |
|---|
| 30 | 34 | | chief appraiser of that appraisal district. |
|---|
| 31 | 35 | | SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date |
|---|
| 32 | 36 | | of this Act, the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation shall |
|---|
| 33 | 37 | | adopt rules to implement Section 1151.109, Occupations Code, as |
|---|
| 34 | 38 | | added by this Act. |
|---|
| 35 | 39 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
