| 12 | 8 | BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 13 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 2, Article VI, Texas Constitution, is | |
| 14 | 10 | amended by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: | |
| 15 | 11 | (d) An officer or employee of this state or of a political | |
| 16 | 12 | subdivision of this state may not distribute an official | |
| 17 | 13 | application form for an absentee ballot to a person unless the | |
| 18 | 14 | person has requested the distribution. | |
| 19 | 15 | SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be | |
| 20 | 16 | submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. | |
| 21 | 17 | The ballot shall be printed to permit voting for or against the | |
| 22 | 18 | proposition: "The constitutional amendment prohibiting the | |
| 23 | 19 | unsolicited distribution of an application form for an absentee | |
