                            SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 127
 In Memory
 of
 Rene Garza
 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
 commemorates the life of Rene Garza Sr., who died
 November 25, 2020, at the age of 81; and
 WHEREAS, Rene Garza was an exemplary citizen who was widely
 admired for his achievements in golf and for his many
 contributions to the Harlingen community; and
 WHEREAS, Born on March 12, 1939, he served the nation with
 distinction as a member of the United States Air Force; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Garza was blessed with a wonderful family;
 his beloved wife, Nora Christina Garza, was a source of strength
 for him throughout their marriage; his children, Rene Garza Jr.,
 Steven Gregory Garza, and Sandra Reininger, and his two
 grandchildren, Nicholle and Charles, were a source of much pride
 and joy for him; and
 WHEREAS, Rene began his career in golf at the Wyoming Golf
 Club in Cincinnati, Ohio, and he was considered one of the
 premier golf professionals in the region; he won numerous local
 tournaments, and he also played in several PGA Tour events; a
 lifetime member of the PGA of America, he concluded his career as
 the golf professional at the Tony Butler Golf Course in
 Harlingen; and
 WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband, father, and
 grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
 forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
 Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 family of Rene Garza Sr.; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
 Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
 memory of Rene Garza Sr.
