SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 135
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Jessica Rumbaugh of El Campo, who earned a Top-10 honor
in the American Farm Bureau Federation's annual Excellence in
Agriculture competition; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the American Farm Bureau Federation
recognizes young farmers and ranchers for their demonstrated
knowledge of agriculture and achievements in the field; the
Excellence in Agriculture Award is bestowed upon those who do
not earn their primary income through farming and ranching yet
have nonetheless demonstrated a high level of skill in the
industry; and
WHEREAS, Jessica Rumbaugh is an esteemed member of the El
Campo community and the owner and operator of Texas Land and Home
Real Estate; she and her husband operate a grass-fed beef
business, 410 Farms, and they serve as representatives for the
Texas Farm Bureau's District 11 Young Farmer and Rancher Advisory
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Rumbaugh's passion for agriculture led her
to create a website that offers agriculture lessons as a resource
for teachers and parents; she also hosts a podcast as a forum to
discuss rural properties, and she travels the country as a
trusted voice for the agricultural community; and
WHEREAS, Jessica won the state-level Excellence in
Agriculture competition in November of 2020, and she was the only
representative from Texas to achieve a Top-10 ranking at the
national competition that was held virtually in January of 2021;
she can reflect with pride on her numerous achievements and her
many contributions to the farming and ranching industry; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby recognize Jessica Rumbaugh as a treasured
citizen of the Lone Star State and extend to her congratulations
on receiving national honors in the American Farm Bureau
Federation's annual Excellence in Agriculture competition; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
