4	4	Chad Michael Walker
5	5	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
6	6	commemorates the life of Trooper Chad Michael Walker, who died on
7	7	March 31, 2021, at the age of 38 as a result of injuries sustained
8	8	while serving in the line of duty; and
9	9	WHEREAS, An exemplary trooper with the Texas Department of
10	10	Public Safety, Chad Walker served the citizens of Texas with
11	11	courage, integrity, and a commitment to upholding the highest
12	12	standards of law enforcement duty; he was highly respected and
13	13	admired by his colleagues and by the members of his community; and
14	14	WHEREAS, Chad was born on May 21, 1982, in Corsicana to
15	15	Michael and Brenda Walker; he grew up in Groesbeck and was an avid
16	16	outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and helping his
17	17	grandfather with cattle; he graduated from Groesbeck High School
18	18	in 2000; and
19	19	WHEREAS, Chad began his career in law enforcement in 2003
20	20	as a member of the Athens Police Department, and he later served
21	21	with the Groesbeck Police Department and the Limestone County
22	22	Sheriff's Office; he joined the Texas Department of Public Safety
23	23	in 2015 and was stationed in Groesbeck; and
24	24	WHEREAS, He married Tobie Taylor Walker, his beloved wife,
25	25	on September 22, 2018, and they were blessed with a baby daughter
26	26	this year, Tulsa June; Chad was also blessed with a son, Ethan,
27	27	and with twin daughters, Rylee and Charlee, who were a source of
28	28	much pride and joy for him; and
29	29	WHEREAS, Chad was active in his community and was on the
30	30	Limestone County Farm Bureau Board of Directors; he was a devout
31	31	Christian who was guided by his faith in his daily life, and he
32	32	was noted for his strength of character, his generosity, and his
33	33	ever-present readiness to help those in need; and
34	34	WHEREAS, Chad's dedication to public service was an
35	35	inspiration to others, and his courageous spirit and his
36	36	enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest will not be
37	37	forgotten by those who were privileged to share in his life; now,
38	38	therefore, be it
39	39	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
40	40	Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
41	41	family of Chad Michael Walker; and, be it further
42	42	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
43	43	his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
44	44	Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
45	45	memory of Trooper Chad Walker.
