5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
---|
6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of James Nolan Dunlap Jr., an esteemed |
---|
7 | 7 | | member of the Jack County community, who died January 3, 2020, at |
---|
8 | 8 | | the age of 77; and |
---|
9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A Jack County native, Nolan Dunlap was born to James |
---|
10 | 10 | | and Eva Marie Dunlap on March 5, 1942; he grew up with four |
---|
11 | 11 | | siblings, and he graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1961; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, On February 23, 1963, Nolan married Amelia Irene |
---|
13 | 13 | | "Lee" Cain, and they shared a rewarding marriage of 56 years; the |
---|
14 | 14 | | couple became the proud parents of two daughters, Staci and |
---|
15 | 15 | | Holly, and they were further blessed with six grandchildren, |
---|
16 | 16 | | Kortland, Kyler, Paxton, Logan, London, and Larson; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Dunlap worked in the oil field business for |
---|
18 | 18 | | many years before his election as Jack County justice of the |
---|
19 | 19 | | peace; he served his fellow residents with distinction in that |
---|
20 | 20 | | position for nearly three decades until his retirement; he also |
---|
21 | 21 | | served his community as a member of the local chamber of commerce |
---|
22 | 22 | | and the Lions Club, and he was a valued congregant of Live Oak |
---|
23 | 23 | | Baptist Church; in his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, |
---|
24 | 24 | | and searching for arrowheads; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Nolan Dunlap was known for his integrity and |
---|
26 | 26 | | strength and for his devotion to his family and friends and Jack |
---|
27 | 27 | | County, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured by |
---|
28 | 28 | | many for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
---|
29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
---|
30 | 30 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
---|
31 | 31 | | family of Nolan Dunlap Jr.; and, be it further |
---|
32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
---|
33 | 33 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
---|
34 | 34 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
---|
35 | 35 | | memory of Nolan Dunlap Jr. |
