| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, In commemoration of the institution's 50th |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | anniversary, the University of North Texas Health Science Center |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | is recognizing 50 individuals who have made significant |

| 8 | 8 | | contributions to the medical school and who have been nominated |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | for the honor by their team members; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Carla Johnson first joined the Health Science |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Center staff in 1993 as the head of Admissions and Services for |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and she currently |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | serves as executive director of GSBS Student and Academic |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Services; over the course of her 28-year tenure, she has acquired |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | an extensive knowledge of the institution and its history, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | she has been a strong advocate for students as well as a dedicated |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | supporter of faculty and staff; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Described by her colleagues as a knowledgeable, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | compassionate, and visionary leader, Carla Johnson has |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | consistently worked for the betterment of the institution she |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | serves, and she has earned the lasting appreciation of the Health |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Science Center community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Carla Johnson on being named |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | one of the 50 Heroes of the University of North Texas Health |

| 26 | 26 | | Science Center and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
