SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 298 WHEREAS, Carla Johnson was named one of the 50 Heroes of the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth; and WHEREAS, In commemoration of the institution's 50th anniversary, the University of North Texas Health Science Center is recognizing 50 individuals who have made significant contributions to the medical school and who have been nominated for the honor by their team members; and WHEREAS, Carla Johnson first joined the Health Science Center staff in 1993 as the head of Admissions and Services for the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and she currently serves as executive director of GSBS Student and Academic Services; over the course of her 28-year tenure, she has acquired an extensive knowledge of the institution and its history, and she has been a strong advocate for students as well as a dedicated supporter of faculty and staff; and WHEREAS, Described by her colleagues as a knowledgeable, compassionate, and visionary leader, Carla Johnson has consistently worked for the betterment of the institution she serves, and she has earned the lasting appreciation of the Health Science Center community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, hereby congratulate Carla Johnson on being named one of the 50 Heroes of the University of North Texas Health Science Center and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Ms. Johnson as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
