| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Bailey L. Cox, a student at Wichita Christian |

| 3 | 3 | | School in Wichita Falls, has received a prestigious honor by |

| 4 | 4 | | being selected for membership in the National Society of High |

| 5 | 5 | | School Scholars; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2002, the National Society of High |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | School Scholars is made up of 1.7 million students from around |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the globe who have demonstrated excellence in their academic |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | endeavors; to be eligible for membership, students must meet one |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | or more specific standards, including achieving high college |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | admission test scores, compiling a cumulative grade point |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | average of 3.5 or higher, or placing in the top 10 percent in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | their high school class; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed international society connects |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | students to unique learning experiences as well as scholarship, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | internship, and international study opportunities; members can |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | also draw on such resources as college entrance counseling and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | college fairs to further their educational and career planning; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | in addition, they have access to a global peer network of other |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | accomplished student scholars; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Bailey Cox has demonstrated exceptional |

| 22 | 22 | | initiative and dedication in the pursuit of her academic goals, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and this exemplary young Texan is indeed deserving of recognition |

| 24 | 24 | | for her accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Bailey L. Cox on her admission |
