SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 369 WHEREAS, Bailey L. Cox, a student at Wichita Christian School in Wichita Falls, has received a prestigious honor by being selected for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars; and WHEREAS, Established in 2002, the National Society of High School Scholars is made up of 1.7 million students from around the globe who have demonstrated excellence in their academic endeavors; to be eligible for membership, students must meet one or more specific standards, including achieving high college admission test scores, compiling a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, or placing in the top 10 percent in their high school class; and WHEREAS, This esteemed international society connects students to unique learning experiences as well as scholarship, internship, and international study opportunities; members can also draw on such resources as college entrance counseling and college fairs to further their educational and career planning; in addition, they have access to a global peer network of other accomplished student scholars; and WHEREAS, Bailey Cox has demonstrated exceptional initiative and dedication in the pursuit of her academic goals, and this exemplary young Texan is indeed deserving of recognition for her accomplishments; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, hereby congratulate Bailey L. Cox on her admission into the National Society of High School Scholars and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Ms. Cox as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
