| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Officer Vincent Marino of the Frisco Police |

| 3 | 3 | | Department recently demonstrated remarkable initiative and skill |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | when he saved the lives of two fellow citizens; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Twice in the early months of 2021, Officer Marino |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | put his CPR training to good use; in January, he responded to a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | jogger who had collapsed and was unresponsive; he performed CPR, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | saving the individual's life; the following month, he was again |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | first on the scene for an unresponsive person, and once again he |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | performed lifesaving CPR; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Shortly after moving to Texas from the East Coast |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in 2012, Officer Marino joined the Frisco Police Department as a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | dispatcher, and in 2015, he entered the Denton Police Academy; he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | began field training with the Frisco PD in June of that year and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | started patrolling on his own by September; in the years since, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | he has earned the respect and admiration of the public and his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | fellow officers for his calm, levelheaded, and professional |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | demeanor and for regularly going above and beyond the call of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | duty while on the job; in 2016, he was named as the department's |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Rookie of the Year; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Every day, the peace officers of Texas are called |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | to the aid of individuals in desperate circumstances, and in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | helping to save two lives in two months, Officer Vincent Marino |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | has demonstrated the composure and compassion that define the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | highest ideals of his profession; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend Officer Vincent Marino for saving |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the lives of two citizens and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | for continued success in his important work; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | prepared for Officer Marino as an expression of high regard from |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | the Texas Senate. |
