SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 379
WHEREAS, Officer Vincent Marino of the Frisco Police
Department recently demonstrated remarkable initiative and skill
when he saved the lives of two fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS, Twice in the early months of 2021, Officer Marino
put his CPR training to good use; in January, he responded to a
jogger who had collapsed and was unresponsive; he performed CPR,
saving the individual's life; the following month, he was again
first on the scene for an unresponsive person, and once again he
performed lifesaving CPR; and
WHEREAS, Shortly after moving to Texas from the East Coast
in 2012, Officer Marino joined the Frisco Police Department as a
dispatcher, and in 2015, he entered the Denton Police Academy; he
began field training with the Frisco PD in June of that year and
started patrolling on his own by September; in the years since,
he has earned the respect and admiration of the public and his
fellow officers for his calm, levelheaded, and professional
demeanor and for regularly going above and beyond the call of
duty while on the job; in 2016, he was named as the department's
Rookie of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Every day, the peace officers of Texas are called
to the aid of individuals in desperate circumstances, and in
helping to save two lives in two months, Officer Vincent Marino
has demonstrated the composure and compassion that define the
highest ideals of his profession; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby commend Officer Vincent Marino for saving
the lives of two citizens and extend to him sincere best wishes
for continued success in his important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
prepared for Officer Marino as an expression of high regard from
the Texas Senate.
