| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Valley Environmental Coalition for its important |

| 4 | 4 | | work in creating and preserving healthy ecosystems in the Rio |

| 5 | 5 | | Grande Valley; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Established to help promote the continued success |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of the annual Valley Environmental Summit, the Valley |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Environmental Coalition brings together hundreds of local |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | leaders, citizens, students, grassroots organizations, and other |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | stakeholders to help identify and address pressing environmental |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | needs in the region; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The coalition succeeds in its mission by creating |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | a venue where stakeholders throughout the region can gather to |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | discuss shifting environmental issues in their communities and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | to develop solutions to time-sensitive ecological problems; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Texans everywhere benefit from our state's |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | thriving and diverse natural landscapes, and all who contribute |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | to the success of the Valley Environmental Coalition's efforts |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | are deserving of special recognition for their service as |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | environmental stewards in the Rio Grande Valley; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, hereby commend all associated with the Valley |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Environmental Coalition for their efforts to promote and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | maintain healthy ecosystems in South Texas and extend to them |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | the coalition as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
