SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 420
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Valley Environmental Coalition for its important
work in creating and preserving healthy ecosystems in the Rio
Grande Valley; and
WHEREAS, Established to help promote the continued success
of the annual Valley Environmental Summit, the Valley
Environmental Coalition brings together hundreds of local
leaders, citizens, students, grassroots organizations, and other
stakeholders to help identify and address pressing environmental
needs in the region; and
WHEREAS, The coalition succeeds in its mission by creating
a venue where stakeholders throughout the region can gather to
discuss shifting environmental issues in their communities and
to develop solutions to time-sensitive ecological problems; and
WHEREAS, Texans everywhere benefit from our state's
thriving and diverse natural landscapes, and all who contribute
to the success of the Valley Environmental Coalition's efforts
are deserving of special recognition for their service as
environmental stewards in the Rio Grande Valley; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
Legislature, hereby commend all associated with the Valley
Environmental Coalition for their efforts to promote and
maintain healthy ecosystems in South Texas and extend to them
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the coalition as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
