| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Detective Gregg Roberts retired from the Tyler |

| 3 | 3 | | Police Department on April 30, 2021, drawing to a close an |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | exemplary tenure that spanned more than three decades; and |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Roberts began his law enforcement career with |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office before joining the Tyler Police |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Department in 1988; he has served the agency in a variety of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | roles, including as a patrol officer, Crime Stoppers officer, and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | SWAT Team member; since becoming a detective, he has investigated |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | cases involving property crimes as well as crimes against |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | persons, and at the time of his retirement, he was assigned to the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | U.S. Marshals Service Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the years, Detective Roberts has garnered |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | numerous accolades in recognition of his dedicated service, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | including two Meritorious Conduct Awards, a Police Commendation, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | two Life Saving Awards, three Certificates of Merit, and a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Certificate of Civic Achievement; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and deep |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | commitment to public safety, Gregg Roberts has earned the lasting |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | respect and admiration of his colleagues and fellow citizens |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | alike, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his contributions; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate Detective Gregg Roberts on his |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | retirement from the Tyler Police Department and extend to him |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
