5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
---|
6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of James Kyle Park, who died |
---|
7 | 7 | | August 15, 2020, at the age of 86; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A seventh-generation Texan, Jim Park was born in |
---|
9 | 9 | | Beaumont on February 22, 1934; he earned his diploma from Allen |
---|
10 | 10 | | Military Academy in Bryan, Texas, and he continued his studies at |
---|
11 | 11 | | Lamar University; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Jim was drafted into the United States Army, and |
---|
13 | 13 | | he served his tour of duty in Fairbanks, Alaska; he returned to |
---|
14 | 14 | | Beaumont after his service and soon met Sissy, who became his |
---|
15 | 15 | | best friend and wife; they were blessed with three sons, Kyle, |
---|
16 | 16 | | Joey, and John, and for 65 years, Jim and Sissy were rarely apart |
---|
17 | 17 | | for more than a few days; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Park enjoyed working cattle with his friends |
---|
19 | 19 | | at a ranch in LaBelle, just south of Beaumont; he truly loved the |
---|
20 | 20 | | cowboy way of life and cherished time spent caring for a vast |
---|
21 | 21 | | cattle herd; an avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed fishing and |
---|
22 | 22 | | spending time hunting on his ranch in Uvalde; and |
---|
23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Jim Park was a devoted husband and father and an |
---|
24 | 24 | | esteemed member of the Beaumont community; he was beloved by |
---|
25 | 25 | | many, and he leaves behind memories that will long be cherished |
---|
26 | 26 | | by those who were privileged to share in his life; now, |
---|
27 | 27 | | therefore, be it |
---|
28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
---|
29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
---|
30 | 30 | | family of James Kyle Park; and, be it further |
---|
31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
---|
32 | 32 | | his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |
---|
33 | 33 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
---|
34 | 34 | | memory of Jim Park. |
