SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 455 In Memory of James Kyle Park WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and commemorates the life of James Kyle Park, who died August 15, 2020, at the age of 86; and WHEREAS, A seventh-generation Texan, Jim Park was born in Beaumont on February 22, 1934; he earned his diploma from Allen Military Academy in Bryan, Texas, and he continued his studies at Lamar University; and WHEREAS, Jim was drafted into the United States Army, and he served his tour of duty in Fairbanks, Alaska; he returned to Beaumont after his service and soon met Sissy, who became his best friend and wife; they were blessed with three sons, Kyle, Joey, and John, and for 65 years, Jim and Sissy were rarely apart for more than a few days; and WHEREAS, Mr. Park enjoyed working cattle with his friends at a ranch in LaBelle, just south of Beaumont; he truly loved the cowboy way of life and cherished time spent caring for a vast cattle herd; an avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed fishing and spending time hunting on his ranch in Uvalde; and WHEREAS, Jim Park was a devoted husband and father and an esteemed member of the Beaumont community; he was beloved by many, and he leaves behind memories that will long be cherished by those who were privileged to share in his life; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of James Kyle Park; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jim Park.
