| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | commemorates the life of Maria Isabel Hernandez, who died May 10, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2021, at the age of 82; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Maria Isabel Hernandez was born on November 20, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | 1938, to Angelita and Jose Flores; she lived her entire life in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | her hometown of Brownsville and was a 1958 graduate of |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Brownsville High School; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, She married the love of her life, Humberto |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Hernandez, in 1966, and they enjoyed more than five decades of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | marriage together; they were blessed with eight children, and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | their 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren were a source |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of much pride and joy for her; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A devout Catholic who practiced her faith in her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | daily life, she was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Catholic Church; she loved spending time outdoors and was an avid |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | gardener and birdwatcher; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, A woman of warmth, wisdom, and grace, she saw the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | good in everyone she met, and she will long be remembered for her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | generosity and loving spirit; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | family of Maria Isabel Hernandez; and, be it further |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas |

| 32 | 32 | | Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in |
