| 6 | 6 | | by the loving family of 23-year-old Anna Lee Calhoun and her |

| 7 | 7 | | two-year-old daughter, Harper Marie Provenza, who passed away on |

| 8 | 8 | | May 4, 2021; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Anna Lee Calhoun was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, |

| 10 | 10 | | on September 17, 1997, to Donna McNatt and Ronnie Calhoun; she |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | was a standout member of the volleyball team at Holy Spirit |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Catholic High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and after |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | graduating, she enrolled as a biology major at Midwestern State |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | University in Wichita Falls, where she excelled in her studies; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Calhoun shared an inseparable bond with her |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | beloved daughter, Harper, who was born on July 6, 2018; just like |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | her mother, Harper exuded joy and happiness, and her bright smile |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and abundant laughter made her the center of attention everywhere |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | she went; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Calhoun's life was further blessed by the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | companionship of a close-knit group of friends, with whom she |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | made many wonderful memories, and she especially treasured the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | special connection she shared with her best friend, Jason |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Gribble; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Although the loss of this beloved mother and child |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | brings tremendous sadness, Anna Calhoun and Harper Provenza |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | enriched the lives of everyone around them in ways beyond measure, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and they will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | many people who held them dear; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Anna Lee Calhoun |

| 32 | 32 | | and Harper Marie Provenza and extend deepest condolences to the |

| 33 | 33 | | members of their family: to Ms. Calhoun's mother, Donna McNatt, |

| 34 | 34 | | her stepmother, Cheryl Calhoun, her grandmother, Mimi, and her |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family in Alabama; to |

| 36 | 36 | | Harper's other grandmother, Becky Provenza, her |

| 37 | 37 | | great-grandmother, Lois Whitaker, and her numerous aunts, |

| 38 | 38 | | uncles, and cousins; and to all those who mourn their passing; |
