6 | 6 | | Marshall suffered an immeasurable loss with his death on October |

7 | 7 | | 13, 2020, at the age of 68; and |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Born on December 28, 1951, in Florida, Winston |
---|
9 | 9 | | Robinson was the son of Johnnie and Mable Byrd Robinson and the |
---|
10 | 10 | | oldest of their three children; he graduated from Northside High |
---|
11 | 11 | | School before earning a bachelor's degree in chemistry from |
---|
12 | 12 | | Ramapo College of New Jersey in 1982; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson started his career at Warner-Lambert |
---|
14 | 14 | | Pharmaceuticals, followed by leadership roles at Apollo |
---|
15 | 15 | | Technologies, NATEC, and ACF Industries; he served as the |
---|
16 | 16 | | director of planning and community development for the City of |
---|
17 | 17 | | Marshall from 2001 to 2010, and in 2011, he began working at Wiley |
---|
18 | 18 | | College, where he was director of auxiliary services until 2018, |
---|
19 | 19 | | when he was appointed as the director of athletics; and |
---|
20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Robinson was a member of |
---|
21 | 21 | | Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church for over three decades; he |
---|
22 | 22 | | held several leadership positions with the church, including |
---|
23 | 23 | | deacon, secretary of the board of deacons, trustee, and budget |
---|
24 | 24 | | manager, and he also sang in the male chorus; in addition, he was |
---|
25 | 25 | | a member of Omega Psi Phi, and he generously supported United Way |
---|
26 | 26 | | and the Boys and Girls Clubs; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, In 2002, Mr. Robinson married the love of his |
---|
28 | 28 | | life, Cozzetta, and he took great pride in their blended family, |
---|
29 | 29 | | which grew to include their three children, Leslie, Jewana, and |
---|
30 | 30 | | Jason, and three grandchildren, Louis, Montana, and Aidyn; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Although Winston Robinson is deeply missed, his |
---|
32 | 32 | | loved ones may find comfort in remembering the humility, |
---|
33 | 33 | | kindness, and selflessness with which he lived his life; now, |
---|
34 | 34 | | therefore, be it |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th |
---|
36 | 36 | | Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the life of Winston Robinson |
---|
37 | 37 | | and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his |

38 | 38 | | wife, Cozzetta; to his children, Leslie Robinson Frye, Jewana |
---|
39 | 39 | | Warren, and Jason Warren; to his brothers, Kenneth Robinson and |
