11 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 76
22 WHEREAS, Detective Reggie Conley retired from the Tyler
33 Police Department on December 31, 2020, drawing to a close 36
44 years of outstanding service to the Tyler community; and
55 WHEREAS, Reggie Conley first joined Tyler PD in October
66 1984, and for the last two decades, he oversaw recruiting and
77 hiring procedures with the career development unit; more than
88 three-quarters of the department's current employees were hired
99 during his tenure; and
1010 WHEREAS, Detective Conley holds advanced and master
1111 officer certifications and is designated as a department
1212 sharpshooter; he has been recognized with a Certificate of Merit,
1313 a Lifesaving Award, and a Police Commendation; and
1414 WHEREAS, Reggie Conley's dedication, professionalism, and
1515 commitment to protecting the public have greatly benefited the
1616 residents of Tyler, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a
1717 career well spent; now, therefore, be it
1818 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
1919 Legislature, hereby congratulate Detective Reggie Conley on his
2020 retirement from the Tyler Police Department and extend to him
2121 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
2222 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
2323 prepared for Detective Conley as an expression of high regard
2424 from the Texas Senate.
