H.R. No. 103 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The untimely death of Jeffrey Sean Barry of Dallas on August 5, 2021, at the age of 47, has brought an immeasurable loss to his family and friends; and WHEREAS, Born in Dallas on February 13, 1974, Jeff Barry was the son of Thomas and Kathleen Barry, and he grew up with the companionship of a sister, Kelly; he attended St. Patrick Catholic School, Forest Meadow Junior High School, and Lake Highlands High School, where he graduated in 1992; he continued his studies at Southern Methodist University, earning a bachelor's degree in marketing from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business in 1996; while at SMU, he pledged the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and enjoyed a strong bond of camaraderie with his fraternity brothers; and WHEREAS, Mr. Barry went on to work for IBM, Winning Habits, Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Ryan LLC, and other companies, in addition to undertaking contract work; shortly before his passing, he had co-founded a licensing company of his own, BarScot; and WHEREAS, Mr. Barry was the loving father of three children, Lucas, Blake, and Ashley, and he often took them on outings to the Dallas Athletic Club, where he was a member; his hobbies included playing golf with his friends; he was known as a warm and gregarious man, and he was cherished by an extended family that included his niece, nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and WHEREAS, Although Jeff Barry is deeply missed, he has left his family and friends with many treasured memories, and he will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jeffrey Sean Barry and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his family: to his children, Lucas Thomas Barry, Blake Hodges Barry, and Ashley Ryan Barry; to his parents, Dr. Thomas E. Barry and Kathleen E. Barry; to his sister, Kelly Anne Galloway; to his niece, Audrey Layne Galloway, and nephew, Brady Thomas Galloway; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeffrey Sean Barry.
