45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Words cannot express the sorrow felt at the loss of
67 Sergeant Christopher Ray Wilson of the Texas Parks and Wildlife
78 Department, who passed away on August 26, 2021, at the age of 43;
89 and
910 WHEREAS, Chris Wilson was born on December 11, 1977; after
1011 graduating from Cameron High School in Milam County, he studied and
1112 played football at Tarleton State University and Sam Houston State
1213 University, earning his bachelor's degree in kinesiology with a
1314 minor in history from SHSU; and
1415 WHEREAS, On January 1, 2004, Mr. Wilson graduated as a member
1516 of the 50th Game Warden Cadet Class, and he began his TPWD career as
1617 a game warden in San Saba County before moving to Bell County; in
1718 December 2016, he was promoted to sergeant special investigator
1819 with responsibility for investigating complex environmental crimes
1920 as well as threats against game wardens and park police officers;
2021 and
2122 WHEREAS, Sergeant Wilson's warm smile and calm strength
2223 served him well in his work, enabling him to pacify difficult
2324 situations in the field and earning him the respect and admiration
2425 of the public and his fellow officers; and
2526 WHEREAS, Although he was taken much too soon, Chris Wilson
2627 leaves behind a legacy of valiant and dedicated service that will
2728 continue to inspire all those who knew and loved him; now,
2829 therefore, be it
2930 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3031 Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
3132 of Sergeant Christopher Ray Wilson and extend heartfelt sympathy to
3233 the members of his family: to his children, Tristen, Colby, Tyler,
3334 and Hailey; to his parents, Warren and Mary Ann Rinn; and to his
3435 other relatives, his colleagues, and his many friends; and, be it
3536 further
3637 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3738 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3839 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sergeant
3940 Wilson.
