| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Melinda Dae has ably served her fellow Texans as an |

| 6 | 7 | | intern in the office of State Representative Jacey Jetton during |

| 7 | 8 | | the summer of 2021; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Dae has provided vital |

| 9 | 10 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in |

| 10 | 11 | | addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Dae is a student at St. Agnes Academy in Houston |

| 14 | 15 | | and has distinguished herself through her involvement in a host of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | extracurricular and volunteer activities; in addition to being |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | elected to the St. Agnes student council's student advisory |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | committee, she has excelled in debate competitions; among other |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | achievements, she has earned multiple Top Speaker for Public Forum |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | awards, elevated her standing with the National Speech & Debate |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Association, and placed second in Programmed Oral Interpretation at |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | the NSDA South Texas District Tournament in July 2021; her |

| 22 | 23 | | contributions to her school community were honored with an |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Outstanding Citizenship Award from the Fort Bend Independent School |

| 24 | 25 | | District in 2020; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 26 | 27 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |

| 27 | 28 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
