H.R. No. 79
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Melinda Dae has ably served her fellow Texans as an
intern in the office of State Representative Jacey Jetton during
the summer of 2021; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Dae has provided vital
assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; in
addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public
service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Dae is a student at St. Agnes Academy in Houston
and has distinguished herself through her involvement in a host of
extracurricular and volunteer activities; in addition to being
elected to the St. Agnes student council's student advisory
committee, she has excelled in debate competitions; among other
achievements, she has earned multiple Top Speaker for Public Forum
awards, elevated her standing with the National Speech & Debate
Association, and placed second in Programmed Oral Interpretation at
the NSDA South Texas District Tournament in July 2021; her
contributions to her school community were honored with an
Outstanding Citizenship Award from the Fort Bend Independent School
District in 2020; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Melinda Dae for her
service as a legislative intern in the office of State
Representative Jacey Jetton and extend to her sincere best wishes
for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Dae as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
