R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Myong Chong of Fort Worth was named as the 18th
president of the Federation of Mid-South Korean Associations, an
organization that serves Korean Americans throughout a five-state
region, in 2021; and
WHEREAS, The Federation of Mid-South Korean Associations, or
FEMSKA, is dedicated to promoting the activities of Korean American
associations in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi,
Arkansas, and Louisiana; through its support, FEMSKA is making a
positive impact in the lives of the Korean Americans who are served
by these organizations; and
WHEREAS, Our state benefits immensely from the professional
achievements of Americans of Korean descent who are working to
build a brighter future for their families and communities, and the
leadership of President Chong will greatly help the Federation of
Mid-South Korean Associations to advance its important mission;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor the Federation of
Mid-South Korean Associations for its contributions to the
community and extend to Myong Chong sincere best wishes for a
successful tenure as president; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for FEMSKA as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
