45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Tim Halfin has been deservedly recognized for his
67 role in locating a three-year-old boy who had gone missing in Grimes
78 County; and
89 WHEREAS, The child, Christopher Ramirez, had wandered into
910 the dense woods near his home in Plantersville on October 6, 2021,
1011 prompting a massive search effort that involved a coalition of 48
1112 agencies; despite searchers working around the clock, several days
1213 passed with no sign of the missing toddler; and
1314 WHEREAS, After hearing about the case at his Bible study
1415 meeting, Tim Halfin decided to join in the search; on the morning of
1516 October 9, he spotted Christopher about 10 yards into the forest on
1617 the Halfin property; the youngster had traveled five miles from his
1718 home, and although tired, hungry, and dehydrated from the journey,
1819 he was otherwise unharmed; the news that he had been found alive and
1920 safe brought immense relief to his community, and after being
2021 treated at hospitals in Houston and The Woodlands, he returned home
2122 to his loved ones; and
2223 WHEREAS, By taking part in the search for Christopher
2324 Ramirez, Tim Halfin helped avert what could have been a terrible
2425 tragedy, and his actions have earned the profound gratitude of his
2526 fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2728 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Tim Halfin for his
2829 assistance in the safe return of a missing child and extend to him
2930 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Mr. Halfin as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
