| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The child, Christopher Ramirez, had wandered into |

| 9 | 10 | | the dense woods near his home in Plantersville on October 6, 2021, |

| 10 | 11 | | prompting a massive search effort that involved a coalition of 48 |

| 11 | 12 | | agencies; despite searchers working around the clock, several days |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | passed with no sign of the missing toddler; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, After hearing about the case at his Bible study |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | meeting, Tim Halfin decided to join in the search; on the morning of |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | October 9, he spotted Christopher about 10 yards into the forest on |

| 16 | 17 | | the Halfin property; the youngster had traveled five miles from his |

| 17 | 18 | | home, and although tired, hungry, and dehydrated from the journey, |

| 18 | 19 | | he was otherwise unharmed; the news that he had been found alive and |

| 19 | 20 | | safe brought immense relief to his community, and after being |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | treated at hospitals in Houston and The Woodlands, he returned home |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, By taking part in the search for Christopher |

| 23 | 24 | | Ramirez, Tim Halfin helped avert what could have been a terrible |

| 24 | 25 | | tragedy, and his actions have earned the profound gratitude of his |

| 25 | 26 | | fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
