H.R. No. 264 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Tim Halfin has been deservedly recognized for his role in locating a three-year-old boy who had gone missing in Grimes County; and WHEREAS, The child, Christopher Ramirez, had wandered into the dense woods near his home in Plantersville on October 6, 2021, prompting a massive search effort that involved a coalition of 48 agencies; despite searchers working around the clock, several days passed with no sign of the missing toddler; and WHEREAS, After hearing about the case at his Bible study meeting, Tim Halfin decided to join in the search; on the morning of October 9, he spotted Christopher about 10 yards into the forest on the Halfin property; the youngster had traveled five miles from his home, and although tired, hungry, and dehydrated from the journey, he was otherwise unharmed; the news that he had been found alive and safe brought immense relief to his community, and after being treated at hospitals in Houston and The Woodlands, he returned home to his loved ones; and WHEREAS, By taking part in the search for Christopher Ramirez, Tim Halfin helped avert what could have been a terrible tragedy, and his actions have earned the profound gratitude of his fellow Texans; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Tim Halfin for his assistance in the safe return of a missing child and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Halfin as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
