45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
67 memories of Kenneth Arlan Bostrom, who passed away on August 21,
78 2021, at the age of 72, and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Bostrom, who
89 passed away on August 24, 2021, at the age of 72; and
910 WHEREAS, A native of Montevideo, Minnesota, Ken Bostrom was
1011 born on July 21, 1949, to John and Nelinda Bostrom, and he grew up
1112 with the companionship of six siblings, Cindy, Joy, Linda, Mary
1213 Ann, Darrell, and Larrie; after graduating from Montevideo High
1314 School in 1967, he served in the U.S. Navy; he was later employed by
1415 the Farmers Union Grain Terminal Association for more than a
1516 decade, and during his tenure, he worked in radio broadcasting as a
1617 DJ; he went on to host his own TV program in Aberdeen, South Dakota,
1718 before embarking on a 29-year career as a state licensed consultant
1819 at Brown Hearing Centers in Orange, Texas; and
1920 WHEREAS, The former Mary Brown was born in Balaton,
2021 Minnesota, on July 11, 1949, to Charles and Elnora Brown, and she
2122 grew up with five siblings, Betty, E. Anne, Corinne, Charlene, and
2223 Charles; a 1967 graduate of Echo High School, she worked in home
2324 daycare before joining Feinstein's department store; she
2425 subsequently enjoyed a rewarding career in the banking industry,
2526 and she later served as church administrator at Church of the Living
2627 God in Galveston; over the years, she studied at the American
2728 Bankers Association, and she earned a certificate from Rhema
2829 Correspondence Bible School; and
2930 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bostrom shared a loving marriage that
3031 spanned more than five decades, and together they answered the call
3132 to the ministry; they graduated from Wisdom Bible Institute in
3233 1994, Mr. Bostrom as valedictorian, and Mrs. Bostrom went on to
3334 become an instructor for the school; they were later ordained
3435 through World Ministry Fellowship, where Mr. Bostrom served as
3536 board chair and Texas Gulf Coast state director for over a decade;
3637 in addition, they founded Ken Bostrom Ministries in 2000, and they
3738 both earned doctor of ministry degrees in theology from the College
3839 for Global Deployment; and
3940 WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to their family, Mr. and
4041 Mrs. Bostrom were the parents of three children, Shannon, Jennifer,
4142 and the late Jyl Grey Anderson, and they were further blessed with
4243 six grandchildren, McKinley, Delaney, Kennedy, Jacob, Maxwell, and
4344 Samantha; and
4445 WHEREAS, Through their commitment to their faith and to their
4546 loved ones, Ken and Mary Bostrom touched the lives of countless
4647 people during their time on this earth, and they will long be
4748 remembered with admiration and affection by all those who held them
4849 dear; now, therefore, be it
4950 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
5051 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
5152 of Kenneth and Mary Bostrom and extend heartfelt sympathy to their
5253 relatives and many friends; and, be it further
5354 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5455 prepared for their family and that when the Texas House of
5556 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ken and
5657 Mary Bostrom.
