6 | 7 | | memories of Kenneth Arlan Bostrom, who passed away on August 21, |

7 | 8 | | 2021, at the age of 72, and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Bostrom, who |

8 | 9 | | passed away on August 24, 2021, at the age of 72; and |

9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, A native of Montevideo, Minnesota, Ken Bostrom was |
---|
10 | 11 | | born on July 21, 1949, to John and Nelinda Bostrom, and he grew up |
---|
11 | 12 | | with the companionship of six siblings, Cindy, Joy, Linda, Mary |
---|
12 | 13 | | Ann, Darrell, and Larrie; after graduating from Montevideo High |
---|
13 | 14 | | School in 1967, he served in the U.S. Navy; he was later employed by |
---|
14 | 15 | | the Farmers Union Grain Terminal Association for more than a |
---|
15 | 16 | | decade, and during his tenure, he worked in radio broadcasting as a |
---|
16 | 17 | | DJ; he went on to host his own TV program in Aberdeen, South Dakota, |
---|
17 | 18 | | before embarking on a 29-year career as a state licensed consultant |
---|
18 | 19 | | at Brown Hearing Centers in Orange, Texas; and |
---|
19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The former Mary Brown was born in Balaton, |
---|
20 | 21 | | Minnesota, on July 11, 1949, to Charles and Elnora Brown, and she |
---|
21 | 22 | | grew up with five siblings, Betty, E. Anne, Corinne, Charlene, and |
---|
22 | 23 | | Charles; a 1967 graduate of Echo High School, she worked in home |
---|
23 | 24 | | daycare before joining Feinstein's department store; she |
---|
24 | 25 | | subsequently enjoyed a rewarding career in the banking industry, |
---|
25 | 26 | | and she later served as church administrator at Church of the Living |
---|
26 | 27 | | God in Galveston; over the years, she studied at the American |
---|
27 | 28 | | Bankers Association, and she earned a certificate from Rhema |
---|
28 | 29 | | Correspondence Bible School; and |
---|
29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bostrom shared a loving marriage that |
---|
30 | 31 | | spanned more than five decades, and together they answered the call |
---|
31 | 32 | | to the ministry; they graduated from Wisdom Bible Institute in |
---|
32 | 33 | | 1994, Mr. Bostrom as valedictorian, and Mrs. Bostrom went on to |
---|
33 | 34 | | become an instructor for the school; they were later ordained |
---|
34 | 35 | | through World Ministry Fellowship, where Mr. Bostrom served as |
---|
35 | 36 | | board chair and Texas Gulf Coast state director for over a decade; |
---|
36 | 37 | | in addition, they founded Ken Bostrom Ministries in 2000, and they |
---|
37 | 38 | | both earned doctor of ministry degrees in theology from the College |
---|
38 | 39 | | for Global Deployment; and |
---|
39 | 40 | | WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to their family, Mr. and |
---|
40 | 41 | | Mrs. Bostrom were the parents of three children, Shannon, Jennifer, |
---|
41 | 42 | | and the late Jyl Grey Anderson, and they were further blessed with |
---|
42 | 43 | | six grandchildren, McKinley, Delaney, Kennedy, Jacob, Maxwell, and |
---|
43 | 44 | | Samantha; and |
---|
44 | 45 | | WHEREAS, Through their commitment to their faith and to their |
---|
45 | 46 | | loved ones, Ken and Mary Bostrom touched the lives of countless |
---|
46 | 47 | | people during their time on this earth, and they will long be |
---|
47 | 48 | | remembered with admiration and affection by all those who held them |
---|
48 | 49 | | dear; now, therefore, be it |

49 | 50 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

50 | 51 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |

51 | 52 | | of Kenneth and Mary Bostrom and extend heartfelt sympathy to their |

52 | 53 | | relatives and many friends; and, be it further |

53 | 54 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
