45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss
67 with the tragic passing of Cole Edward Overstreet of Livingston on
78 September 24, 2021, at the age of 18; and
89 WHEREAS, Born in Conroe on September 19, 2003, Cole
910 Overstreet was the cherished son of Tad and April Overstreet; he
1011 grew up in The Woodlands and Conroe area with the companionship of
1112 his sister, Anna, and brother, Benjamin, and he moved with his
1213 family to the Lakeside Village neighborhood in Livingston in 2016;
1314 and
1415 WHEREAS, Mr. Overstreet embraced his new home in Livingston,
1516 enrolling in Livingston ISD and joining the First Baptist Church of
1617 Livingston; he was a member of the First Student Ministries youth
1718 group at his church, and he played the bass drum in the marching
1819 band at Livingston High School; he was known as a leader and a role
1920 model to his peers, and he strove to live according to one of his
2021 favorite quotes from former president Ronald Reagan, "There is no
2122 limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the
2223 credit"; and
2324 WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too
2425 soon, Cole Overstreet was a source of joy and inspiration to all who
2526 were blessed to know him, and they will forever carry his memory
2627 close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
2728 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2829 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
2930 Cole Edward Overstreet and extend profound condolences to his
3031 family and friends; and, be it further
3132 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3233 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3334 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Cole
3435 Overstreet.
