H.R. No. 70 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss with the tragic passing of Cole Edward Overstreet of Livingston on September 24, 2021, at the age of 18; and WHEREAS, Born in Conroe on September 19, 2003, Cole Overstreet was the cherished son of Tad and April Overstreet; he grew up in The Woodlands and Conroe area with the companionship of his sister, Anna, and brother, Benjamin, and he moved with his family to the Lakeside Village neighborhood in Livingston in 2016; and WHEREAS, Mr. Overstreet embraced his new home in Livingston, enrolling in Livingston ISD and joining the First Baptist Church of Livingston; he was a member of the First Student Ministries youth group at his church, and he played the bass drum in the marching band at Livingston High School; he was known as a leader and a role model to his peers, and he strove to live according to one of his favorite quotes from former president Ronald Reagan, "There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don't care who gets the credit"; and WHEREAS, Although his journey on this earth ended far too soon, Cole Overstreet was a source of joy and inspiration to all who were blessed to know him, and they will forever carry his memory close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Cole Edward Overstreet and extend profound condolences to his family and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Cole Overstreet.
