45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Kori Freeman Crow of Austin
67 on September 21, 2021, at the age of 43, has brought a heartbreaking
78 loss to her family, friends, and colleagues; and
89 WHEREAS, Born on March 14, 1978, in Landstuhl, Germany, to
910 Mike and Starr Freeman, the former Kori Freeman grew up with the
1011 companionship of a sister, Lacey; during her childhood, she moved
1112 with her family to El Paso and then to Central Texas, where she
1213 graduated from Round Rock High School in 1996; while at Round Rock
1314 High, she served as editor of the school newspaper and had a
1415 memorable stint as the school's dragon mascot; she also
1516 participated in a number of local political campaigns; and
1617 WHEREAS, From the age of eight, when she idolized
1718 then-President Ronald Reagan, she had set her sights on a career in
1819 politics; she majored in communications at Concordia University
1920 Texas in Austin, and she went on to meet her future husband, Chad
2021 Crow, while running her first political campaign; the couple were
2122 married on May 26, 2002, at a ceremony in Round Rock; together with
2223 her husband, Ms. Crow founded a political consulting firm called KC
2324 Strategies that has worked on more than 300 campaigns over the
2425 course of two decades; in 2017, she was honored with the Texas
2526 Blazing Star Award from the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Texas,
2627 and that same year, she was recognized as one of the 40 best
2728 campaign professionals under age 40 by the American Association of
2829 Political Consultants; and
2930 WHEREAS, Ms. Crow and her husband shared a love of travel
3031 that led them to live in six different countries and to visit at
3132 least 60 others; despite the demands of her work, she was able to
3233 have many adventures in far-flung places, which included earning a
3334 culinary arts degree in Argentina, becoming a certified master
3435 scuba instructor in Honduras, and attending an audience in Rome
3536 with Pope John Paul II; in 2019, the Crows were blessed with a son,
3637 Francis, while they were living on Vancouver Island in Canada; and
3738 WHEREAS, Kori Crow lived a rich and vibrant life, and she will
3839 forever be remembered with deep affection by all who were fortunate
3940 enough to know her; now, therefore, be it
4041 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
4142 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
4243 of Kori Freeman Crow and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of
4344 her family: to her husband, Chad Crow; to her son, Francis Crow; to
4445 her parents, Mike and Starr Freeman; to her sister, Lacey Eaton, and
4546 her husband, Bill; to her niece, Samantha Davis, and nephew, Toby
4647 Eaton; to her father- and mother-in-law, Joe and Pat Crow; to her
4748 uncles and aunts, Pat and Cindy Keith and Joey and Norma Keith; to
4849 her cousin, Kelly Higdon; and to her other relatives and friends;
4950 and, be it further
5051 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5152 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
5253 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kori Crow.
