4+ SENATE RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Officer Dusty L.
66 Wainscott of the Grayson County Sheriff's Office on September 8,
77 2021, at the age of 38, has brought a heartbreaking loss to his
88 family, friends, and colleagues; and
99 WHEREAS, Born in Sherman on October 2, 1982, Dusty
1010 Wainscott was the son of Wanda and Larry Wainscott, and he grew up
1111 with a sister, Tiffany; an alumnus of S&S High School, he
1212 graduated from Texoma Regional Police Academy at Grayson College
1313 in 2005; and
1414 WHEREAS, Officer Wainscott worked for the Van Alstyne and
1515 Pottsboro police departments before joining the Grayson County
1616 Sheriff's Office in 2008; he served as a patrol deputy, field
1717 training officer, hostage negotiator, criminal investigator, and
1818 intelligence investigator during his 13 years on the force; and
1919 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Officer Wainscott enjoyed
2020 the love and support of his wife, Lindsey; and
2121 WHEREAS, A gentle giant with a larger-than-life
2222 personality, Dusty Wainscott enriched the lives of everyone
2323 around him, and he leaves behind a legacy of service that his
2424 loved ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it
25- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
26- Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
27- of Officer Dusty L. Wainscott and extend deepest condolences to
28- the members of his family: to his wife, Lindsey Wainscott; to his
29- parents, Larry and Wanda Wainscott; to his sister, Tiffany
30- Wainscott; to his father- and mother-in-law, Shelly and Joyce
31- Hughes; to his uncles, Emmett Wainscott and his wife, Carolyn,
32- and Perry Wainscott and his wife, Lou Ann; and to his other
33- relatives and friends; and, be it further
25+ RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 87th Texas Legislature,
26+ 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Officer
27+ Dusty L. Wainscott and extend deepest condolences to the members
28+ of his family: to his wife, Lindsey Wainscott; to his parents,
29+ Larry and Wanda Wainscott; to his sister, Tiffany Wainscott; to
