SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 11 In Memory of Dusty Wainscott WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Officer Dusty L. Wainscott of the Grayson County Sheriff's Office on September 8, 2021, at the age of 38, has brought a heartbreaking loss to his family, friends, and colleagues; and WHEREAS, Born in Sherman on October 2, 1982, Dusty Wainscott was the son of Wanda and Larry Wainscott, and he grew up with a sister, Tiffany; an alumnus of S&S High School, he graduated from Texoma Regional Police Academy at Grayson College in 2005; and WHEREAS, Officer Wainscott worked for the Van Alstyne and Pottsboro police departments before joining the Grayson County Sheriff's Office in 2008; he served as a patrol deputy, field training officer, hostage negotiator, criminal investigator, and intelligence investigator during his 13 years on the force; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Officer Wainscott enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Lindsey; and WHEREAS, A gentle giant with a larger-than-life personality, Dusty Wainscott enriched the lives of everyone around him, and he leaves behind a legacy of service that his loved ones can remember with pride; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Officer Dusty L. Wainscott and extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to his wife, Lindsey Wainscott; to his parents, Larry and Wanda Wainscott; to his sister, Tiffany Wainscott; to his father- and mother-in-law, Shelly and Joyce Hughes; to his uncles, Emmett Wainscott and his wife, Carolyn, and Perry Wainscott and his wife, Lou Ann; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Officer Dusty L. Wainscott.
